BIOGRAPHY
I bought my first camera -- a Minolta SRT-101 in 1973... Shortly after that, I took a darkroom course at a local high school and got hooked. I shot for the stars and in 1975, I bought a Hasselblad 500 CM. I approached a local wedding studio (Sooters) and told them I had a Hasselblad... They replied, "You're hired." I shot as many as 40 weddings a year, in all months of the year, even New Years Eve. As well, I got into freelancing photography with the local newspapers and became the official photographer for the Gymnastic Association. By then I was using a Minolta 700 with a very sharp f2.5 100 mm lens. I also purchased a Bronica ETRS with several lens in 1987 and used that camera. I still have it but rarely use it. I traded in my Hasselblad in September 2000 and bought my first digital camera -- a 3.14 megapixel camera for $1500.00 from Costco (would you believe) It was stolen and since then, I have owned many Canon cameras -- G1, G2, G3, G6, G9 and I'm looking at the G10 now. In 2003 I bought the Canon 10D for only $2495.00 -- a real deal at the time. A year later I bought the 70-200 f2.8 lens which I use for shooting sports mostly.... I've quit shooting weddings and now I shoot large gymnastic schools and dance schools (being retired from teaching school for 36 years) My wife and I love to travel, going to Florida for a month or two in the winter....
