My Name is George (Paul) Rollin, III. I entered my first name in the form when I joined photo.net, but I am called PAUL. Born July 13, 1946 in Montgomery, Alabama. Moved to Dallas, TX October of 1961. 1973 BBA Marketing from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX. Have lived in the Spring, TX (Harris County-Houston) since October of 1984.
An Amateur Photographer for more than 40 years. Sold photographic equipment,... Leica, Nikon, Pentax, Rollei, Zeiss, Minolta, Konica, Mamiya, Hasselblad, Linhoff, Minox, Bolex, and Beaulieu, at Neiman Marcus in the Main Store in Dallas, TX, in the 1960's, when Neiman Marcus was a serious photo retailer. I was fortunate to work briefly with the "Father of Color Photography" - Ernst Haas, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Haas, who was doing an Exhibit, and Sale, of his Limited Edition Prints. He told me one thing that I have never forgotten. He said, "Good is the most formidable enemy of Great. Most photographers don't know the difference. The others are happy to simply settle for Good. Almost anyone, with a camera, can take a photo of a flower, an insect, a sunset, or a woman mourning over a lost child, if they are there, with the right equipment, and the courage to shoot the photograph. So,...Show them something that they have never seen before. Show them something Great".
Thanks to all who have offered your comments, and suggestions for improvement on my photographic endeavors.
God Bless You.
