BIOGRAPHY
Photography - It's not what you look at that matters; it's what you see.
I think what makes me love photography so much is that it has taught me to see things instead of just looking at them. There's so much beauty in our surroundings that we take for granted and my hope is to get people to take a moment and see what they're missing.
My path has been somewhat opposite of most photographers in that I started with digital and moved to film. I'd always been interested in photography but I didn't really start to learn the fundamentals until around 2001, when I picked up my first digital camera and began to understand the basics of exposure. Regardless of how one feels about the digital medium, it's hard to deny that digital's instant feedback is invaluable as a learning tool. With the experience (and confidence) gained from my DC, I moved on to film SLR photography for a few years, and recently went full circle by picking up a digital SLR.
I'm still very much a beginner. Or an advanced beginner at best. Much of my photos are still hit and miss, but I'm happy to learn from each experience. I hope this honeymoon period of learning never ends.
