BIOGRAPHY
Your basic camera toteing curmudgeon. I shoot with both 35mm film and digital and have been known to use a Nikon D70 to shoot test shots for a FED 3 (so yes I see the camera solely as a tool)... I used Minolta SLRs for years and still do for manual stuff. All my auto focus gear is Nikon ... But I really love to use rangefinders ie: Konicas, Leicas old Russian FEDs and Zorkis and Minolta 7s and such. I know it's a digital age now ... and there has been much discussion as of late about just what is a photograph vs a digimage ... I think the dividing line is if a capture is left intact it's photography ... cut and paste is digimaging. Nothing wrong with either just call it what it is. My shots can look, (and sometimes are) pretty conventional on the surface, although I do like to take some off-kilter stuff to create a "tension" in the picture. Tension meaning I try to create an active involvement with the image, making your eyes and mind "work" through it. Future plans are to work to improve my use of natural light sources, and create more viewer involvement photos as opposed to passive images. My "best" camera? ... the one I have with me ... PS ... I think rating photos using only numbers is a waste (and I don't do it), critique with words ... and not with an attitude please.

the vigil (in the name of love).............Lorraine motel ................. Very few times do photographs move me like this one ... The vigil of Jacqueline Smith, the Lorraine motels last resident, who continues a protest she began 17 years ago when she was moved from the motel. Notice the poster of Jacqueline looking back at you with Bono of U2 next to her... and the portrait of Dr. King ... as she stares at the motel ... My gallery has a wide shot in which you can see the memorial wreath on the balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King was slain. .... PLEASE use this link ... http://www.fulfillthedream.net/index.htm
