I got my first camera, a 35mm canon point and shoot, from my bride 40 years ago as a wedding gift and have remained an amateur (at photography) since. I went about 5 years without taking a photograph until one day a friend gave me a like new Nikon FM with a couple of off market lenses and re-kindled my love for the art. Although my gear has improved, I as yet have not settled with my proficiency. I love the outdoors, hiking; fly fishing and arising dreadfully early to catch the morning light. As a born and bred southerner I take things at a leisurely pace and rarely hurry with the shutter. I find myself frequently forgetting to take the picture because of a fascination with the subject matter. I loved that FM and it taught me more about photography than any book. I gave it as a gift, as it came to me, and the photographer that has it now is immensely talented. I have since watch my daughter become the photographer I wish I was. Her work is simply amazing. I hope you enjoy what I post and I always welcome constructive criticism.
