I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1956, and lived there until 1987. I lived in Edinburgh from 1987 to 1991. I live in Finland since 1991. I am married and have two children.
I like Nature photography from macro to landscape. I started taking photographs when I was about 8 years old, when my aunt gave me as a present a Kodak Brownie Fiesta roll-film camera. Later on, I read some books on photography and composition I found in my father's bookcase. Some years later I read The Complete Photographer by Andreas Feininger. This was very important for me, somehow it told me how to see photographs everywhere without a camera. Like looking at the world through an imaginary camera. In the late 70s or early 80s I discovered Alfred Blaker's books on field and scientific photography. The only formal training in photography I have had was a course/workshop taught by Horacio Coppola (of Imagema's group). At some point in the 90's I pondered whether to become a full-time photographer, but no, I continued my career as an ecologist, so nowadays photography is partly a hobby and partly a work tool for me.
