Hi Stephan I have just seen your webpage, which is really cool, just an idea, it might be better if you published your pictures in a Flash movie slideshow to protect your stuff from theft because Win XP can copy your pictures from your page. Keep up the good work

Thank you. Even w/o XP one can view the source or disable JavaScript and copy the images. The only thing is they are only 72 dpi which does not look great when printed, but I'll look into the flash idea.

While I like the nudes, your Reflections folder is very interesting (not normally an abstract kinda guy).

What a gorgeous portfolio! I"m especially draw to the infrared nudes. My first experiments with film was this genre. I'm trying to duplicate with digital but it's just not the sme feel! Looks like some of these might have been shot in or around Santa F... the workshops there? SImply beautiful!

My infrared nudes have been shot in the Austin, TX area. I picked up a book on infrared photography a few years ago and started shooting on film. Most were shot with Kodak's HIE, but some like this one were shot using the 10D.

Thank you for your kind words. I love to photograph and I would love to find a way to do it full-time (while maintaining a certain lifestyle). I am honored to be part of photo.net and I am glad that my pictures also appeal to people who do not have the same connections to them as I do.

I saw a great smoke-photo a few years ago and so I wanted to see if I could also be successful in capturing this unpredictable subject. I am first and foremost drawn to smoke pictures because I find them very beautiful. With mirrored smoke pictures, I like the ink-blot like qualities which allow every viewer to see different things.

As far as how, everyone who would like to try to photograph smoke should try it and keep trying until they are satisfied with the results. If I told everyone who wants to know how I took my pictures, it would only result in "similar" pictures. If they find out on their own, they may create something much better. It is the journey that counts.

you have an excellent portfolio, thanks for your comments on my portfolio, the boulders you asked about are north of Dunedin (south Island),there are similar boulders in california, Anchor Bay, bowling ball beach which i found quite interesting.

Thank you all for your comments. I am glad you like them. I do not smoke though - these were all taken with incense smoke, but shooting them migt be more addictive than smoking :)
