Thanks for kind remark on my photo. Decided to look at yours -- with much delight. I particularly liked "Weather in the North" (have I got it right?). Very powerful --I think it's the dark beams, front right that solidly anchor the picture against an exploding sky.

You have one of the best portfolios I have seen i really enjoy the IR shoot. how do you do them. is it the camera or do you use software. never the less they are outstanding.

Thanks for commenting on my photo since it led me to view your portfolio. I am a seriously, big fan of B&W and IR images so your images are a visual treat for me. Your recent submissions in the B.Landscape photo are wonderful and offering in many cases an almost surreal play on light and shadows. The fountain shot is personal fav of mine for its somber tones, implied movement and simple but highly effective composition. The untitled windfarm is also another spectacular shot. In 1984, you shot in the cemetery near my home, in Milan. During 2004 I took some photos there. Congratulations for all of your images.

First off, Thanks for the great comments on " Zabriskie Point ". Second, your shots just blew me away! Your black and white are incrediable. Your color photographs are really crisp and well defined. As soon as I get a spare minute I will be taking a close up look at your captures. I did notice a lot of bay area shots. You living up there?. I grew up in the North Bay (Humboldt, Mendocino and Sonoma ) and some of those shots looked real familier..Thanks again and keep on shooting...RAY

Thanks, Jim! To answer your question on "Black Palm Cockatoo"--she was an excellent subject, and very sweet, but the parrots I photograph (especially if their crests are raised) are generally dancing, as I try to make them as excited as possible so it's a very enjoyable experience. (The alternative method to get a raised crest is to frighten them--some do this, I believe it is wrong.)

Thus I take many (often hundreds) of photos and hope some turn out!! :)
