Hi from Brazil !
I like your sense of composition(simples ,
elegant),and color
combination, Sebastien.I think your choice of Kodak
portra 160 VC is great to transmit the delicates of
winter colors.I think you must buy some MF camera and
start to make beautiful prints. Show us more!
Cheers! R.K.

Roumen, regretful, I don't have enough money to buy a middle format camera cause I'm only a poor (very very poor) student... (but don't hesitate if you want to offer one to me... lol)
Thanks for the kindness of your comment.
Grazie anche a te, monia, per questi complimenti e perdonami se mi sbaglio nel' ortografa ma non ho mai imparato l'italiano. Mi e stato trasmesso geneticamente... ;-)

Thank you for the wonderful comment on my portfolio. Especially since it led me to yours. You have a very fresh and creative view of your subjects. You are a real artistic talent, much more than a mere photographer, you are creating art. Wonderful portfolio.
John Falkenstine , September 05, 2004; 01:43 A.M.
The images show occasional flashes of brilliance and originality. However, overall, I see the "conformity of the European Bourgeouisie" creeping into the style already. This photographer needs to travel to get some alternate input.

Don't let the discouraging 2 above deter you. I know talent and you have it!
Sébastien Pepinster , September 22, 2004; 06:23 P.M.
Thank you, Jame, for your comments.
Don't worry, I won't be discouraged by anything, especially by poeple who try to "intimidate" me... But you say "Don't let the discouraging 2 above deter you.". Where I disagree is that I don't feel the second like being unpleasent. I even feel it encouraging. Ok, I admit that I don't really agree with the possible "european bourgeoisie" influence, as I'm, socially, thousands miles away from that "category"... But, it's true that now, my work has to become more mature.
Ok, I make acceptable pictures but I'm consicent that my work is still too conventional, too influenced by SCHOOL... (as I'm still a student...)
I must now get free from those psychological "casing clamps" caused by my teachers's influence and learn to see the world from MY OWN REAL point of view...
I'll become more mature... I work for it...
Concerning the second one, I don't feel it discouraging too... I rather find it funny. Actually, that man didn't like the fact that I said that one of his pictures was pitiful... So he came here and try to get his revenge... That kind of psychologically frustrated people make me laugh and give me the will to go on for the simple reason that they don't like my work and I get fun with disturbing them. So I'll keep the pictures coming...
Thanks again for all, Jame (And all the others that commented my pictures so kindly).
Cheers,
David Bradley

Constructive Comments Are Always Welcome
As you age and I hope, mature, you will come to realize that everybody appreciates constructive comments positive and negative, and once you offer such thoughtful contributions, I expect you will find yourself getting comments and ratings based on your work and not your thoughtlessness.
Toby Hicks , November 20, 2004; 03:44 P.M.
what you said on david's porfolio was pretty harsh...
But I must say that your portfolio has some very good photos, you have some real talent. Good job.

An impressive portfolio. You seem to have a consistent 'voice' throughout your work. I will stop by and check out your folders again! Best wishes.

Une vision bien noire du monde. Souvent nocturne, sous-terraine ou en gris et en carr鮠 :|

Hi Sebastien
Thanks for your signature in my portfolio. Actually I do not give much credit to the ratings system since there is not a forum or critique category for alternative cameras in PN. Most people think the Holga is just sloppy work, and I really appreciate that you have found some beauty along those folders. I really like your work. And this is because I think is an eye opener, thought provoking body of work, and very consistent.

Bonne continuation !

Like your work Seb.... To me, Euralille is the most impressive part of it. Keep doing your own stuff and following your instinct.... BTW: like the graves too.... xvii

Hi
I happened to read a comment you made on Joam Boam's site back in April and found it interesting enough to come over and check out your site. Your pictures all seem to contain the quality I call the moment of recognition, that instant when you really see something as if for the first time. I used to score pictures like everyone else, but now feel it's rather foolish. If I find a picture or portfolio I really like, I'll make a comment personally. That's how a community of creative people should operate, I think. I'll be checking out your work often. By the way, loved the bumper cars (at least that's what we used to call them).
