Twin Tower

Thanks Clement for your comments and the insertion of your great photo. Unusual angle and I like the glow on the top of the Twin Towers. Nicely exposed.

Jason Weiss , December 07, 2003; 05:10 P.M.

Very nice work, I wish I could get your colors. My favorites are definitely "Enlightenment" and "Living on the Edge." Great exposures and compositions. Thanks for the inspiration.

You have great sense for colors. Keep up the good work.

Alton Earle , December 20, 2003; 01:57 A.M.

Incredible color and great composition. My initial perusal of your Cambodian shots was very enjoyable. Am up to my eyeballs in work, but will definitely go through and rate a lot of them...and rate them well :-). Very good work!

Roman Elinson , December 20, 2003; 04:23 A.M.

Enlightenment and Sand dunes are brilliant

Jacques Henry , December 20, 2003; 06:54 A.M.

Indeed a great sense for color Alec. Most of your pictures are so bright.

Howard Dion , December 20, 2003; 07:05 A.M.

Very impressive collection of images. Thanks for pointing me in your direction.

Frank Krizner , December 21, 2003; 11:05 P.M.

Great.

Your photos are all improvements on the actual picture. I think all are digital. Your photos have the color, saturation and sharpness that the human eye lacks. If I could only see everything through this magic lens. The world of vibrant color is always more exciting. Whatever the ratings I like the work. I will try to copy it.

Rudolf D'Souza , December 22, 2003; 06:07 A.M.

Wonderful portfolio: a great use of color. I like very well the New Zeland photos. (And... beautiful cat!)

Alec Ee , December 30, 2003; 08:12 A.M.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I have made it a point to visit all your sites. Many of the portfolio of pictures are very well composed, professional with nice colors which are really fantastic. I've learnt a lot ever since I started being a member of Photo.net (November 2003) and visiting great photographers website like yours. I'm still learning and hopefully I can get better day by day. I believe knowing how to compose and take a great shot is only part of the equation for the new generation digital photographer. Now we can have the fun of post processing digital pictures the way we really wanted it to be seen. Isn't it great how technology has improved? However I'm still a firm believer of going out and getting that "great shot" rather than digitally manipulating a picture from the computer. Looking forward to seeing more great shots in Photo.net from your contributions and have a great new year 2004.

Gary H Sp , December 30, 2003; 10:23 A.M.

Alec, not only does your work demonstrate talent for composition, you show very good instincts for where to position the camera, which, with use of light, is a crucial way the photographer personalizes his/her work.

Alec, as a young photographer your words struck a chord with me. Just yesterday, I overcame at least 10 years of personal photographic inertia by shooting half a roll of transparency film. As I did, my mind was anticipating ways to digitally work and rework those images in PhotoImpact, once I select the best of them to be scanned.

Again, thanks for the kind words.

Reinaldo Loureiro , January 01, 2004; 03:07 P.M.

Excelent!

You really have a great, inspiring portfolio for all of us!

Yasumasa Yanagisawa , January 11, 2004; 02:50 A.M.

Thank you for your comment to my photo, Alec. I could fully enjoy your work as will as various places in Asia. You are based in Singapore, I suppose. Some thirty years ago, I was a newspaper correspondent stationed in Singapore, but now I can recognize only one thing, Merlion?, so far from your photos. And I am sure you will be honored by Sony some day to your CyberShot activity. Good luck!

Jayme Hall - Bardstown, KY , January 11, 2004; 05:18 A.M.

From your biggest Fan

As asked, I looked over your photos, WOW! You are a budding artist, not a photographer. Your photos show your artistic understanding, which I find much more desireable than just being a photographer. Many try to learn to have an artistic eye without ever reaching their goal. They know the camera, the settings and all the clinical information they need, they just don't have the artistic ability to put emotion into their photographs. Some say you are born with this and it is not learnable. I tend to agree, You my dear have that artistic ability and someday if you wish, will be a famous photographer, I really mean this! Don't let my high critique numbers fool you, I only critique the best photos I skip all the others. I hate to hurt anyones feelings. So send out your photos and make some money and get noticed and don't let all the technical junk in photography change your perspective, it's perfect the way it is! Good luck and I will be watching.

David Kondroski , January 11, 2004; 02:25 P.M.

Very nice Alec! I love your colors and the night shots too. Interesting sunset shots of Redondo Beach.

Comments from Jayme Hall

Dear Jamie. Initially I took your praises with a pinch of salt. Then I began to look at your equally outstanding photo.net site. When I saw the other superb 5 sites which you highly respected and rated I can say that I feel very very honored. The cul-de-sac was from your general comments portfolio where you show your skills in PS and cropping. (http://www.photo.net/shared/community-member-all?proc_name=ad_general_comments&user_id=825764#ph_photos) I am left spell-bounded that you chose many of my pictures, and your patience to recreate, admire and also to assist others towards self-improve. Jamie, there are not many sincere people like you and I hope we keep in touch more often.

Max Haynes , January 12, 2004; 12:50 A.M.

Nice work Alec, I especially like the Angkor Wat images.

Venicia L , January 13, 2004; 02:19 A.M.

Beautiful portfolio

Alec,

I like the vibrant color and crisp representation of your images. Yours is quite a contrast to my style which tends to be much more abstract.

Hi Alec

You have some masterpices amongst your pictures. They all got som facinating strong colors. Thanks for sharing them.

Antonio Baiano , January 13, 2004; 06:03 A.M.

Many thanks for your comment on Yadira, Alec. Sure I will have a better look to your portfolio: I've seen that you've got a lot of photos so I need some time. The first impression is that you have a great sense for light and colour, some shots really impressed me! Maybe you could cut some photos which are below the level or repeated, your portfolio would improve from that!

Erin Boyd , January 13, 2004; 06:20 A.M.

I'll add you to my list Alec so I can return and comment on more of you pics!

Chris Harrison , January 13, 2004; 07:34 A.M.

Very, Very Good!

Your work is beautiful, and inspiring. I hope you make the most of it! The time taken to render these images is obviously an investment, and you've done an excellent job, both pre and post submitting here. Thanks so much for sharing!

Saikat Pathak , January 19, 2004; 11:29 P.M.

Hi Alec, this is great work. You really have an excellent travel folder. I truly enjoy your compositions, the candids/environmental potraits and the lighting. Show us more of this world. All the best to you.

Robert Wingard , January 20, 2004; 08:59 P.M.

Excellent

Simple great. I hope I can take pictures this good.

Scott Lavoie , January 21, 2004; 08:15 A.M.

Very Nice

Thank you for your comment on my photo Alec. As you requested I have checked out your pictures and all I can say is.... awesome! I have just recently gained an interest in photography and about half of the pictures I've uploaded are pictures I've had for years. I guess I've uploaded them for critique just to see what I'm up against. There are so many talented photographers here and they all seem willing to share a good comment or genuine critique. I was kind of surprised you said my picture was interesting (the picture of the rusty barrels). That's the picture I expected the most negative comments on. But it's holding it's own at about 4 and 4 on the ratings. I hope we cross paths again. I've marked your name as an "intersting" person in hopes I'll see more of your work. Be well, Scott

Nice work!

Dear Alec, Even though I am slightly against manipulated photos, I could not resist to give a 7/7 to this portfolio. As most of your visitors said already, Ireally like your colour manipulation and your choice of subjects. you definitely know what are you doing. keep going.thanks for your comments as well.

Ron Roem , January 21, 2004; 02:29 P.M.

Hello Alec, you really have an eye for images. I like the way you specially look at people. I want to concentrate more at this subject and learned a lot from your pictures. Keep going. Ron.

Jeff Urban , January 24, 2004; 01:23 A.M.

Outstanding

Hi Alec,

i *never* comment on portfolios, but yours is truly astounding...the colors and contrasts you achieve are inspiring to me...i feel you really manage the balance between detail and expansiveness in your photos really exceptionally well...on an irrelevant side note, the model Jaslyn (sp?) with the incorrigibly quizzical expression is unbelievably beautiful and possibly reason enough for me to vacation to singapore this year...

Dillan Koropatnick , January 25, 2004; 01:47 P.M.

A joy to view

I've really enjoyed your photos. You've got an excellent eye, and you've travelled to many of the places that I've dreamed about. Please keep them coming!
