Spectral Sensitivity of Cathode Ray Tubes

The color Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) used in computer monitors and televisions use an additive RGB system of color reproduction. The phosphors inside the face of the CRT are excited to glow when electrons are directed at them. If you look at the face of a CRT with an 8X to 10X loope you can see the individual dots of red, green and blue phosphor. The graph below compares the spectral sensitivity curves for color CRT phosphors to the curves for our eyes.
