joel_truckenbrod 0 Posted September 4, 2007 This is a bit of a departure from your usual portrait style Steve. Her eye obviously becomes a natural focal point and (for me), helps keep me from getting lost outside of the frame. As always, the natural quality of the light keeps this grounded in reality and gives the image a different "air" than commercial portraiture. Beautiful image! Link to comment
sjmurray 33,698 Posted September 4, 2007 Hey Joel, thanks for stopping by. I shot a full face just testing out this lens. I liked it better cropped like this, just bringing out the single features of Jenny's face. Glad you liked it. I gather you've been busy with your 4x5 this summer, creating a new vision of landscape photography, no doubt. If you get the chance, email me where I can see some images. Link to comment
sjmurray 33,698 Posted September 5, 2007 Decided to crop to give just the bare elements of her face. Link to comment

trisha jean-angela 5 Posted January 9, 2010 This is a beautiful portrait! How do you get her skin so smooth and her eyes so clear and sharp? Is it your camera, the light or post-processing? I ask because I desperately want to learn how to take photos like this; it is beautiful! Thanks for sharing! :) Link to comment

Wouter Willemse 851 Posted September 6, 2011 I agree completely. She stares into you - it grips and it's kind of difficult to let go due to the very direct eye contact. It works really well, and makes it a very intriguing photo to me. Link to comment
