It's a magic place! Wow, I would like to take a break at this place!

Excellent picture 7/7 for the composition, color etc...just wow!

Gorgeous shot! It would be nice if the person who gave this a 3/4 would explain why! I love the composition. Keep sharing the great photos

Thank you all for your kind words.

Dale, I'm convinced that most trolls that leave such ratings are not really interested in photography, but rather immature games. Thanks for your comments.

Hey Will, it looks like you had some nice opportunities on the islands. I saw your B&W version of this and after looking at them I would lean with the B&W version. The only nit is the composition seems a little off and I cannot tell you what, it just seems that way to me. You've got some really good responses from this image so it would seem to be striking a cord with most. - Congrats Sean

Will, another great shot. I love how you have used a more subdued saturation for the sky. Most people tend to overdo the saturation. Your colors and composition here are excellent. Exposure here is also excellent, nice details in the shadows of the tree and highlights sufficiently controlled. I am trying to think what might improve this image, but I'm having trouble. Maybe if the footprints weren't in the sand. You could clone them out in photoshop, but it would be a little difficult. Well done I like it.

So well thought out and executed. Impressive falls short. The etherial rays of light only make it more dramatic. Anyone giving you less than 7/7 is doing it because the system won't allow it or they are not playing well with others. THIS photo made my day. Thnk you.

Thanks all for your kind responses.

Sean, about the comp. I think I know what's bothering you. It was brought to my attention from Mike Stacey on my B&W version. I think I should have left more breathing room on the left side. Thanks for the comments.

Michah, I agree about the footprint. Either not have them at all or just have one set leading from left to right.

Andrew, thanks for the kind words. You've made my day.

Thanks Peter. If I'm not mistaken, I believe I used a Hoya superthin polarizer on this image. I achieved the dynamic range from taking 4 exposures and blending them with layer masks in PS CS2.

I am curious what you said about 4 exposured layers,Will!

Normally, people use 2 layers to deal with this kinda situation.

Could you tell me what 4 exposures you shot and how to blend them, more specifically, thanks alot, friend!

Of course I shot with a tripod and cable release. I shot 2 expsoures for the sky. 1 for the right part of the sky and the other for the left part of the sky. The 3rd shot was exposed for the water and the last for the tree. I made all the usual adjustments in raw for all 4 shots and then layered them. The key to making this work is using layer masks. If you don't know how to use layer masks, you should learn. It's actually quite simple. Google layer masks & photoshop.

Very nice landscape. Unusual composition which will polarize some. I quite like it but some will be bothered by the tree leading away from the centre to the the top left juxtaposed on the rays of the sun going in the opposite direction. In spite of this it works for me. Great light.
