guyscrivner 0 Posted December 30, 2005 An experiment in B&W. Thanks for looking closer. Your thoughts are appreciated. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted December 30, 2005 I'm not sure if this was the right choice, for your intended purpose - i.e. the creation of an 'Enchanted Forest' image. There must have been some direct sunlight on the ferns in the foreground, as they appear rather bright. Also, their presence has a kind of blocking effect, preventing my eyes from penetrating the image much further than the nearby tree. This effectively gives this image a depth of a couple of yards. When I envisage an enchanted forest, I would like to be able to look 'into it'. Somewhat along the line of this beauty by John McLaine. Link to comment
guyscrivner 0 Posted December 30, 2005 Peter, thank you for taking time to offer your opinion about this photo. Perhaps Enchanted Forest was a poor choice of words for this particular scene. Your image and Mr. McLaine's both draw you further into the forest and I like that look. I am having fun focusing on B&W work so I may post other images closer to what you envision. Thank you for pointing me to John McLaines portfolio. I will learn by watching yours as well. They both are beautiful. Link to comment
