I love this double Echinacea. It is so beautifully elegant and seems to

be a 'Celebration of Summer' all on it's own. I found these ones

surrounded by pink and mauve Baby's Breath. The sun was shining

brightly and they seemed to be enjoying the 'rays', if that's possible. I

can't believe August is almost over. Thankfully there are still some

good summer days left to be enjoyed. (thanks for any visits and

thoughts shared, Gail :)

Hi Gail, You have captured a great feel for the texture and colour with both the flower itself combined with the background. One of the best in your portfolio. Good work!

Thanks so much for those encouraging words Greg. I do appreciate you taking the time to let me know how well you like this composition. You have always been a big source of inspiration for me.  I hope you and your lovely Joanne are having a good summer at the 'Estate'!!! Cheers for now, Gail

I meant to mention in my Prologue to this composition that this image is dedicated to Natasha Lewis.  I was renewing my Norton's Antivirus Software the other evening and it was Natasha who helped me out. She spoke English so well, and the connection was so clear, I was not sure what Country she was from. She told me she was from Mumbai. I felt a little embarrassed about complaining about the 'heat' here when I learned she was from such a big City in India. While installing my product she shared a bit about her life and so did I. She was excited to tell me that she has an Uncle who has happily lived in Toronto for 12 years and is very thankful to be here in Canada.  She was a delight to converse with and it almost felt like talking to an old friend. How wonderful is that when you are talking to a complete stranger who works in Tech/Customer Service.  They are very fortunate to have her on their team. I feel fortunate to have met her and to have the chance to get to know her a bit, if only briefly. I told her about Photo.Net and quickly showed her our Web Site.  I told her I would post my next image and dedicate it to her.  She planned on looking at the images on the site and especially look for the image that I posted for her. I hope you like this one Natasha!! My best to you and yours, Gail

Seems like you captured the epitome of those "hazy crazy lazy days of summer" I can almost smell the scent, feel the warmth and hear the buzz of busy insects. Love the way the background fades too!

Excellent!

Best Regards

Thanks so much Alf.  Summer days are counting down.....hope to get out tomorrow and get some pics. It has been a bit colder - days before it was terribly hot and humid.  We were fortunate though. We did not get the bad storms that were forecasted. Loved your last image!!!

I like these pinks.  The vibrant pink of the the center of the flowers has great texture too.  The surrounding pinks and whites a so delicate like a tutu of a ballerina.
