Why Editors picks? Why not do it like the monthly project?

Hi Paul,

We have both for different reasons. The monthly photo project allows all members to be able to upload images and share their projects. The Editors' Picks are selected by a team of photo.net editors and the intention is to highlight some of the best photos on the site related to a specific theme.

This is a nice feature, but why, with all the thousands of good images on this site, are there multiple images from one member usually chosen? Surely it would be an oppotunity to highlight the good works of more members.

IMHO, few of editors' picks are not making any justice to the theme. I don't see any mother/child/ love/care relation in Happy blond (Zlatko Kostic's pic), Untitled (Jiri Subrt's pic), Mojito girl (Kenvin Pinardy's pic) and Untitled (Justin Grant's pic) which are unrelated with the theme. I think even the photographers might be confused of why those were selected with this theme. Pitty

I mostly agree w/Ananda. Mother's Day is about a Mother's love, and interactions w/her children. As for the flowers, if they are not in a child's or mother's hands it's irrelevant to the theme, I believe. I very much agree w/Hanna that there should be only one photo from any one photographer, giving more of us a chance to be "honored" (so to speak) w/an editor's pick. It 'appears' that you're playing favorites. Let's get with the real program here, editors, stick more closely to your chosen themes and spread the wealth around, please. Thanks for listening, Lori

A gift from my daugther

I agree with Ananda, Lori and Hanna's comments. I know RR is a great photographer with a beautiful little girl but having three of the images of her is a little excessive when you have thousands to chose from. There are very few images with a mother and child which is the meaning of mother's day. I personally have over twenty in my portfolio alone that showcase the bond of motherhood. Here is of my daughter during a difficult photo shoot that I was trying to take of all three of my children together. She must have known I needed something to calm me down.

One more thing that is bothering me.... I think that anyone showcased should at least be a paying member of PN. They are not supporting your site and yet you are choosing to showcase their work. Doesn't make much sense to me.
